About

  • English
    • The Archaeological Museum of Seville is housed in the splendid Pavilion of Fine Arts, a neo-Baroque and regionalist work built by Aníbal González for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition in the Plaza de América. Its extensive collections trace the history of the province of Seville, from prehistory to the modern era. Among its most notable pieces are important remains from the Roman period, including sculptures and mosaics from the ancient city of Italica, as well as the famous Treasure of El Carambolo, a set of Tartessian gold jewelry dating from the 7th century BC.

It is important to note, however, that the museum is currently closed for major renovations.
