Directions Gardens of Delights - Sweetness and history in Seville

About

  • English
    • The Jardines de las Delicias is a historic Romantic-style garden in Seville. It was laid out along the Guadalquivir River, just west of the Parque de María Luisa. Created in the late 18th century, originally called the "Promenade de Bellaflor," it offers a delicate balance between spacious landscaped areas and more intimate corners, ideal for strolling and meditation. The garden is notable for its paths lined with palm trees and bitter orange trees, as well as its numerous marble statues of mythological and allegorical figures, some of which represent Spanish and American rivers related to the city's history.

Today, this space is known as the Jardines de las Delicias de Arjona and was partly remodeled during the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. They are an ideal haven of peace to refresh yourself in the shade of its rich botanical collection.
