The sun is slowly setting over Seville, painting the sky in warm hues. The air, still hot in September, promises a pleasant evening. It's the perfect time for the Seville City Guide to discover the Andalusian capital from a different perspective, far from the hustle and bustle of the streets: from the tranquil waters of the Guadalquivir River. We'll take you on an eco-friendly one-hour cruise along the river.

All aboard!

We are expected at the Muelle de Nueva York dock to board at 7 p.m., not far from the famous Torre del Oro. A place steeped in history, which has seen so many ships pass through. The excitement is palpable on the docks for all the travelers.

After waiting a short while at the dock, we boarded a modern, silent boat designed to be environmentally friendly. The idea of floating without disturbing the tranquility of the river delighted us. This activity was the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing!

The treasures of Seville seen from the river

The cruise begins, and Seville reveals itself in a new light. Or rather, under a new twilight.

To the left, the Triana district is starting to come alive as evening approaches. We head north to pass under the Triana Bridge, where the wrought-iron structure stands out elegantly against the sky. Every bend in the river reveals a new treasure. And we're not alone: many kayakers and paddleboarders are floating nearby.

The Triana market is a must-see!

Here we are in front of the Torre del Oro. The boat glides gently towards the Real Maestranza bullring, passing very close to the Nao Victoria and ExploraTerra. In the distance, we can see the Giralda of Seville Cathedral.

The atmosphere on board makes the experience unique. The audio commentary (alternating between English, Spanish, and French) tells us the history of the city and its monuments. We learn, for example, the essential role the river played in trade with the Americas. But the real spectacle unfolds above our heads. The sun sinks lower and lower, painting the sky with a sublime gradient of colors. Bright yellow transforms into orange, then pink, and finally purple. The reflection of this spectacle on the water is simply mesmerizing, creating the impression of floating amidst the clouds.

To enhance the boat trip, it is possible to order a drink at the boat's bar.

After a pleasant half-hour narrated cruise, the boat begins a U-turn to return to the embarkation point. We then have plenty of time to enjoy the laid-back Sevillian lifestyle and the monuments that transform with the changing light of the sun.

After an hour on board, we disembarked, our eyes filled with stars! It's a great activity to do alone, as a couple or with family during a stay in Seville.
