Directions Ciudad de Londres - Sevillian Neo-Mudejar Splendor

About

  • English
    • The " City of London " in Seville does not refer to a city in the geographical sense, but rather to an emblematic building in the city center, located on Calle Cuna (an important shopping street).

It is a major work by the Sevillian architect José Espiau y Muñoz. It is considered one of the most important achievements of the Sevillian Regionalism architectural movement.

The Regionalista style of the "City of London" is strongly inspired by the Neo-Mudejar. Its façade is notable for its virtuoso use of brick, ceramics and Arab-inspired motifs, seeking to project to the exterior the opulence of the interiors of the 16th-century Sevillian palace-houses.
