About

  • English
    • The Isabel II Bridge, better known as the Triana Bridge, is an emblem of Seville that spans the Guadalquivir River to connect the historic center with the famous Triana neighborhood.

Inaugurated in 1852, it was the first fixed bridge to be built in the city, replacing an earlier medieval floating bridge. It is considered the oldest preserved iron bridge in Spain. Inspired by the Pont du Carrousel in Paris, this engineering work, designed mainly by French engineers Steinacher and Bernadet, is a 149-meter-long metal arch bridge.

Declared a National Historic Monument in 1976, it is today a must-see place offering beautiful views, and symbolizes the rich architectural heritage and history of the city.
