Capilla de Montesión Sanctuary of the Rosario and Oración

The Chapel of the Rosary of Monte-Sión (Capilla del Rosario de Monte-Sión) takes its name from the Latin inscription "REGINA SACRATISSIMI ROSARII" (Queen of the Most Holy Rosary) visible above its door. It was built following the merger of two brotherhoods, on land donated by the neighboring Dominican convent. The exterior is plain, but the rectangular interior houses a remarkable original wooden frame in the artesonado style from the late 16th century.

Although the building was damaged during the Spanish Civil War, it preserves some of Seville's major artistic treasures. It is the headquarters of an important brotherhood that parades during Holy Week.
