Directions Couvent de San Leandro - Monastic treasure in the historic center of Seville

About

  • English
    • The Royal Convent of San Leandro (Real Monasterio de San Leandro), located in the historic center of Seville, is a monastery of Augustinian hermit nuns. The current church, in Baroque style, contains a rich artistic heritage, including major works attributed to masters such as Martínez Montañés and altarpieces created by Duque Cornejo.

However, what really makes the Convent of San Leandro famous among the general public are its famous Yemas de San Leandro. These delicious sweets, handcrafted by the cloistered nuns according to a jealously guarded recipe, are composed mainly of egg yolks and sugar.
