Parque San Jerónimo is a large urban green space in Seville, located in the northwest of the city, along the meander of the Guadalquivir River.
Built in 1995 on a former nursery site for the 1992 World Expo, it is now linked to the Alamillo Park, together forming the largest green space in Andalusia. The park is particularly famous for housing the imposing monument in homage to Christopher Columbus, the work "El Nacimiento del Hombre Nuevo" (The Birth of the New Man), better known as "The Egg of Columbus" (El Huevo de Colón). It is a large sculpture donated by Moscow. It offers a rich diversity of vegetation, sports facilities and community gardens.
