Directions Mañara Palace - The Renaissance in the heart of Seville

About

  • English
    • The Palacio de Mañara is an urban palace in predominantly Renaissance style, located in the old Jewish quarter of Seville. It was the birthplace of Miguel de Mañara, a famous philanthropist and benefactor of the Brotherhood and the Hospital of Charity.

Although its origins date back to an Islamic construction and then a "Casa Mudéjar" from the 15th century, it was rebuilt to adopt the canons of the Renaissance, with a monumental entrance dating from 1540. After having undergone various uses over the centuries (military, educational, etc.), the palace was acquired by the Council of Andalusia and today houses the administrative headquarters of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage.
