About

  • English
    • The Casa de Pilatos, declared a National Monument, is considered the prototype of the Sevillian palace, a place not to be missed under any circumstances. Built mainly in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Enríquez de Ribera family, this palace is a perfect illustration of Andalusian architectural fusion.

It brilliantly fuses the splendor of the Italian Renaissance style – visible in its main patio adorned with marble and busts of Roman emperors – with the delicacy and richness of Sevillian Mudejar art (spectacular azulejo tiles, wooden coffered ceilings).

A visit to the Casa de Pilatos is a journey into the Spanish Golden Age through its sumptuous salons, its famous chapel and its two magnificent gardens.
